This memorial website was created to remember Raymond G. "Rosie" Rosinski who was born in Peoria, Illinois on July 25, 1927 and passed away on January 24, 2009. He will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Raymond G. “Rosie” Rosinski, 81, of Peoria, passed away at 7:29 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Raymond was born in Peoria on July 25, 1927, son of Leo and Laura (Paulson) Green. He was later adopted and raised by Mr. Gordon L. Rosinski. He married Betty Elouise Henderson on November 29, 1947 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2003 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles “Chuck” and sister, Imogene.

He is survived by his daughter, Roseanna (Edward) Doolan of East Peoria; granddaughter, Elouise Hill of East Peoria; grandson, Raymond E. Doolan of East Peoria; and grandchildren, Cole and Rose Marie Doolan of East Peoria.

Rosie was a U.S. Army Ranger World War II Veteran and a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.

He enjoyed spending time with his family (especially at birthdays and the holidays), visiting Nashville, listening to classic Country & Western music (Your Cheatin’ Heart by Hank Williams was his favorite song), playing his guitar, watching football and baseball on television (especially the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals), fishing and hunting, collecting old long-play records and photographs and working on automobiles.

Rosie was a wonderful father, had a great sense of humor and always put the needs of his family before his own. He will be remembered as outgoing, friendly, loving and considerate of others.

In 1982, he retired as a crane operator with Keystone Steel and Wire in Bartonville, after thirty-two years of service.

A private family visitation will be at Clary Funeral Home in Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to P.A.R.C. and his Memorial Website and online condolences may be accessed at www.ClaryFunerals.com.
